Kitten Update

We are on day 4 and the kittens are doing really, really well.  All putting on a good amount of weight each day and they seem very content.  Malia is being a super mum and runs to her kittens as soon as they squeak.

I won't take individual photos yet because I don't want to unsettle Malia but I have taken a couple of group pics whilst she was off having a wander - it didn't take long for her to come back though and in the last few shots I couldn't really see the kittens because her tail was over the camera lens!

We are keeping a very close eye on the 2 girls, as we are hoping that one of them will be staying here with us....will be lovely to watch them grow and see how they develop.

Kitten Photos

The kittens are now just over 24 hours old and all are putting on weight and doing very well.  Malia is being a very good mum to all her babies and I am monitoring her closely as it is a huge litter for her to be coping with as a first time mum.

I took some photos this morning so thought  would share!

Introducing - Los Gatitos Espanoles (The Spanish Kittens - named for Malia who's parents are from the Hispanocoon's cattery in Spain)

We have Kittens

Malia went into labour after keeping us waiting for a while and delivered a gorgeous litter of kittens early this morning. We have 3 red classic tabby boys, 1 brown classic tabby boy and 2 tortie mackerel tabby girls. Their weights range from 106g to 127g and they are all lively and doing well.

Once I am happy that the kittens are gaining weight OK I will be optioning them to the people on our waiting list.

Will post photos soon.

Malia on day 59...

I took some photos of Malia today, looking very heavy and very fed up!  Since being mated she has put on 1.3kg and is looking fantastic. I am expecting quite a few kittens from her as she seems quite big or she could just be having a small litter that are all quite a nice size.  I always end up guessing at this stage and then totally get it wrong!

I thought it would be nice to show the first pic as you can really see her kitten bump.

Will update more over the next couple of days.

Cleo and Ruby update

Well the girls have been here for a few days now and all is going well.  Ruby is just the loveliest most affectionate little kitten and Cleo is following her lead and seeking us out more and more.  I also found them cuddled up together in their bed this morning.  They are eating really well and putting on weight and I am sure they are going to be a great asset here at Woodside.

I have attached a photo that I took of Cleo yesterday, although I don't think any photo will do her ears justice.....they are enormous and her muzzle is superb.  Going through her pedigree, I also realised that she is a very close relation to our gorgeous Kassaro Mika and it is lovely to think that we have those lines back in our breeding again.

Cleo is home

Cleo (Kassaro Floreeda) arrived home with us but was incredibly scared after her journey.  We gave her lots of cuddles and affection but let her make her own way around and just settle where she felt happy.

Today, she is definately on the up but still a little bit nervy - Ruby however has decided that she doesn't hate Cleo today like she did yesterday and has cuddled up next to her on the sofa and given her a good wash! We are hoping that they will carry on bonding and that Ruby will help Cleo to settle.

Ruby is home

Villarroel Flamenco (Ruby) has arrived home with us!  We went over to Louise's today to pick up our gorgeous girl and we couldn't be more pleased.  She is a beautiful girl with striking markings and superb type already.  She is very affectionate and has settled very well so far.

Thank you again to Louise for another gorgeous girl.

The Three Musketeers have flown the nest...

The boys have all gone to their new homes - Porthos (Leicester) with Anna and Scott, and Aramis (Alfie) and Athos (Sonny) with Gemma, Gareth and Darcey.

It is a very quiet house without them and Star keeps sniffing around their pen wondering where they've gone.

I am very happy with their new homes and that has made it much easier to let them go!

We have an exciting couple of weeks now - Ruby is joining us on Monday and Cleo, our black solid girl is joining us on Tuesday. We then have 2 1/2 weeks until Malia is due to have her very first litter.

Will update with photos over the next few days.

Update on our Formula One Litter (January 2010)

I did a bit of a photoshoot at the weekend with Lola as I had received some updated pics from the owners of her brothers so thought I would do a bit of a comparison. Lola had been kept back by us for breeding but we decided to neuter her and keep her as a pet. Since doing so, she has developed beautifully and weighs around 5.3kg

First up Lola at 13 weeks (1.8kg) and now at 13 months (5.3kg)

Senna at 13 weeks (2kg) and now at 13 months (8.6kg)

Rosberg at 13 weeks (2kg) and now at 13 months

We are very pleased with how these babies have grown and developed and very grateful to their new owners for keeping us updated so regularly.
